A Campus Design Proposal
THIS CAMPUS REDESIGN PROPOSAL FOCUSES ITS NARRATIVE ON THE HEART OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS: by developing a core campus around the John H. Bass Mansion and the Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi. The athletic fields and visitor parking will relocate across Lindenwood Avenue, while the historic arts campus will remain downtown. The University of Saint Francis’ campus around Mirror Lake can then be developed into a cohesive residential campus, with the sufficient dormitories and infrastructure to support a university of four thousand students.
The mission of the campus proposal is reflective of the University of Saint Francis itself: to grow and nurture a diverse community which serves others, fosters peace and justice, and takes delight in creation. The following proposal designs a home for just such a community as this, designed with the same care and consideration that students from all over entrust to the University of Saint Francis itself.
This proposal was created in response to a design competition announced by the university. It placed in the top three of all submissions and is displayed at the University’s main campus in Fort Wayne.
